Born from a clandestine network of self-organized raves, hidden deep within Munich’s forests, abandoned buildings, and beneath the city's concrete arteries - GEISTFREI’s artistic journey is steeped in the raw energy of the underground.

Raised in a home where music was woven into the fabric of everyday life, they grew up surrounded by a constant exchange of sound, culture, and creative expression. With both parents working as DJs and a father deeply immersed in music journalism and the exploration of African and Afro-American music and culture, an early sensitivity to rhythm, composition, and storytelling emerged naturally.

This upbringing cultivated an intuitive relationship with sound, rooted not only in listening, but in understanding music as a living language, shaping the emotional depth and sonic identity that continues to define their artistic vision today.

Their productions and highly immersive, high-risk, high-reward four-deck DJ sets quickly found fertile ground both within and beyond the city's vibrant club scene, captivating audiences at venues like Blitz, Tresor, Rote Sonne, FVTVR, Levenslang, and the legendary Eerste Communie parties.

Drawing inspiration from nature and city alike, their sound is an immersive blend of driving lowends, emotionally charged harmonies, and hypnotic rhythms. Expect tightly woven dramaturgies, intricate textures, and well-balanced dynamics.
